How to measure for a strip curtain (order or quote).

Whatever type of door or cabinet opening you have, and whatever type of strip curtain you’re interested in, it’s essential you get the right measurements before making a purchase or requesting a quote. NOTE: The measuring points are not the same for all types of openings. See our guides below to the most common types of opening and how to measure for a strip curtain to fit them.

General Pedestrian Doors

Height (H): Measure from the underside of the door lintel / frame all the way to the ground.
Width (W) : Measure between the two inner side edges of the door frame.

Roller Shutter Doors

Height (H): With the door open, measure from just below the door spool housing all the way to the ground.
Width (W) : Measure between the outer edges of the door guides.

Sectional Overhead Doors

Height (H) : Measure from the bottom of the door runner curve, all the way to the ground.
Width (W) : Measure from the outside edges of the door runners.

Concertina Doors

Height (H) : Measure from the top of the door guide all the way to the ground.
Width (W) : Measure between the outer edges of the left and right doors.

Note: If you don’t normally open the doors fully, a more economical solution is to have curtains covering just the open area. To do this, measure between the two inside edges of the partly opened doors – Alt Width (AW) – and give us this measurement instead of Width (W).

Multi-Deck Chiller Cabinets

Opening Drop (D) : Measure from the underside of the top fascia down to the top of the base sill.
Width (W) : Measure between the two inner edges.

Serve-Over Deli Counters

Opening Drop (D) : Measure from the underside of the top shelf down to the back edge of the serving shelf.
Width (W) : Measure between the two inner edges.
