Perforated PVC strip curtains provide the ideal solution for businesses that need to maintain natural airflow whilst helping keep larger flying insects, birds and wind-blown debris outside. Manufactured from high-quality clear PVC with precision-cut ventilation slots, these ventilated PVC strip curtains allow fresh air to circulate freely, making them particularly suitable for commercial kitchens, catering facilities, food preparation areas and other workplaces where heat, steam or fumes need to escape.
Unlike standard PVC strip curtains, perforated strips improve ventilation without leaving doorways completely open. They continue to provide a flexible physical barrier that allows easy pedestrian access whilst helping reduce the ingress of pests, leaves and airborne debris. This makes them an excellent choice for businesses looking to improve workplace comfort while maintaining hygiene standards.
Each curtain kit is supplied complete with our durable Hook-On stainless steel hanging rail system and fully prepared perforated PVC strips, ready for quick installation.

Specifically, these curtains are manufactured with scores of narrow vertical slots peppered through the centre of the clear PVC strips. This specialised design allows fresh air to pass through with ease. However, the slots are engineered to be small enough to prohibit the access of larger flying insects, birds, and debris. Therefore, they are an incredibly effective barrier for areas needing to release heat or fumes while still requiring a secure physical perimeter.
Since choosing the right size is vital for performance, we recommend the following for standard installations:
| Strip Width | Thickness | Overlap Percentage | Max Recommended Height | Best Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200mm | 2mm | 36% (approx 40mm) | Up to 2500mm | Pedestrian doors & kitchen ventilation |
Firstly, the hook-on rail is the classic strip curtain format. Because we use 430-grade stainless steel, these rails are particularly suited for areas where appearance and cleanliness are paramount. Furthermore, the Perforated PVC strips are fitted with corresponding metal plate sets that simply hook on (or off) the rail for ultimate ease and convenience.
Rails can be face-fitted or soffit-fitted using the pre-drilled M6 fixing holes. Since fixings are not included, they should be supplied by the installer and be suitable for the specific fitting surface. Moreover, please note that rails are not self-supporting; they must be fitted onto a structurally supporting surface across the whole opening span.
Because our strips are supplied rolled-up, the base of the strips may curl upwards slightly when they are first hung. Fortunately, this residual curl will naturally fall out given time. If possible, we recommend you unroll and leave the strips to flatten out overnight before hanging. Alternatively, if this isn't practical, try reverse-rolling the strips or applying gentle heat to achieve a flat finish more quickly.
In summary, Perforated PVC strips are considered a consumable product. Its lifespan is dictated by where it is used, the type of traffic, and how aggressively that traffic moves through. To help maximise its working life, we always recommend that PVC curtains are fitted internally behind doors or openings. If they are fitted outside and fully exposed to the elements, they can deteriorate more quickly. Nevertheless, with proper care, many of our customers have used the same curtains for several years.

Choosing the correct overlap is important to ensure your perforated PVC strip curtain provides the ideal balance between ventilation, environmental separation and easy access. Our 200mm x 36% overlap Perforated PVC strip curtain kitsfeature the traditional Hook-On hanging system and are designed for commercial kitchens, food preparation areas, workshops and commercial premises where improved airflow is required without leaving doorways fully open.
